Jeongryeo
This is the building that has the tablet
hanging which is given by the king to a
loyal retainer, a good son or a virtuous
woman. It was set up to give inspirations
to descendants and make them follow their
spirit. In the Hyeonchungsa Jeongryeo, the
tablets of four royal retainers are hanging;
Chungmugong from the King Jeongjo,
Yi Sunsin's nephew Lee wan, Lee hong-Mu
of four generations, Lee Bong-Sang of five
generations and also a tablet for a good
son which was given to Lee Je-Bin of eight
generation.

Originally,
Jeongryeo was located at southeast side.
However it changed it's direction to the
west for visitors' convenience during the
sacred construction of Hyeonchungsa. |
