Hyeonchungsa Yuheobi

Yuheobi is a monument put up to give notice of the important remains' first location when it is removed or moved to other place.
This monument is set up on the foot of a hill at the back of Chungmu Education Institution.
Yuhyeobi was set up on February in 1906 after 38 years since Hyeonchungsa was removed by the Seowon removal ordinance of Daewongun in 1868 by Confucian scholars of Asan area with Maeng In-Won as their leader. They expressed the national spirit protesting against japan's sovereign authority plunder by raising the spirit of Yi Sunsin high above.
And this time was right after conclusion of Ulsa protectorate treaty on November in 1905.
This monument's history was known by the discovery of the 'Hyeonchungsa Yuheosubigomun¡® and ¡¯Cheonhyangchukmun
Thanks to the collection work of Maeng In-Won in 1997, it was confirmed that Hyeonchungsa was removed in 1868, and not in 1865 as known until now and that the first location of Hyeonchungsa was right below of Yuheobi, and it was set up on February 1906 by confucian scholars who resisted to Ulsa Joyak(protectorate treaty).
